Rechlicz Named Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week

Badger senior Joel Rechlicz earned Big Ten honors this week for his performance at the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate on March 17-18. He shares the title with Northwestern 's Bjorn Widerstedt. Rechlicz is the lone senior competing for Wisconsin this season and leads season averages among the team with 1342/18-74.56.
While earning individual medalist honors at the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate on March 17-18, he shot a career-best one over par 217 with scores of 74-73-70 and led the team to its' first top place finish of the season.
After placing second among the Badgers several times last fall, Rechlicz led the Badgers for the first time in the 2002-03 season at the Emerald Coast Collegiate on March 1-2. He placed in a tie for 13th, carding 76-78-76'230.
Rechlicz, a Madison native, registered the third lowest average in 2001-02 (76.09), the second lowest in 2000-01 (75.46) and now boasts a 75.55 career average.
