Two Badgers Named All-American Scholar Recipients

Two Wisconsin women golfers were named All-American Scholars when the National Golf Coaches Association recently announced its All-American Scholar Teams in Divisions I, II and III. Senior Katie Connelly of Beloit, and freshman Lindsay McMillan of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, were UW's 12th and 13th honorees for the prestigious recognition awarded annually.
The criteria for selection to the All- American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 (3.40 for seniors) and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college 's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Connelly has earned the distinction three years and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. She led the Badgers to their first NCAA national tournament by taking medalist honors at the NCAA Central Regional. Connelly, a kinesiology major, earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and completed her four-year career ranked second in UW career scoring with a an 18-hole average of 77.79.
A true freshman, McMillan completed her first year with the Badgers ranked third in scoring with an 80.25 average. The pre-med major recorded career lows of 76, 151, and 230 this season.
