Men's Cross-Country team finishes first at Iowa Invitational

The Wisconsin men's cross-country team starts out the 2003 season with a first place finish at the Iowa Invitational Friday in Iowa City, Iowa. The Badgers finished with 39 points while the hosting team, Iowa was the runner-up with 45 points.
Wisconsin secured its first place finish with its top 4 runners finishing within one second of each other. The quadruple finish secured 5th through 8th place at the Iowa Invitational with junior Josh Spiker taking the 5th place position, followed closely by sophomore Ben Gregory in 6th place, both finishing with a time of 19:06. Junior Colin Steele finished in 7th and freshman Codie See crossed the finish line to lock in 8th place for Wisconsin, both with a time of 19:07.
Freshman Teddy O'Reilly completed the top 5 runners for Wisconsin's roster with a 13th place finish in 19:27. Senior Joe Eckerly finished in 17th place with a time of 19:45, while freshman Kyle Elsemore finished 22nd in 19:59.
Wisconsin's next race is the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 27 in Minneapolis, Minn.
