Consistent Efforts Keep Wisconsin in Tenth

With its second 317 round of the tournament, the Badgers finished in tenth-place at the Lady Razorback Invitational at the Rogers, Ark. Pinnacle Country Club (317-314-317=948). Wisconsin managed to hold off the Alabama Crimson Tide (310-321-318=949) by one stroke for exclusive tenth-place position. The Iowa State Cyclones dominated the 19-team field (905), ensuring victory with an 11-stroke advantage over the closest competition, Texas A&M (311-302-303=916). Defending team champion and host, Arkansas dropped to third (303-310-307=920). The Big Ten leader at the meet, Michigan, maintained sixth-place with its lowest round of the tournament (306-315-302=923).
Freshman Mayumi Kobayashi maintained her steady improvement during the final round to earn a 22nd-place. Kobyashi tied with four others at 233 (79-76-78). Kobayashi was the UW's top finisher at a tournament for the first time in her young career.
Junior Lindsay McMillan capped off a consistent meet performance with a 79 in the final round, her third consecutive 79 of the meet. McMillan's 237 54-hole total earned a tie for 35th-place.
Nicki Morse followed in the standings, using an opening-round 76 to earn 43rd-place (76-79-83=238) while Melissa Martin improved three strokes each round to finish two strokes behind in 52nd (83-80-77=240). Katie Elliott shot her lowest round of the meet (83) to finish 92nd, twelve strokes off Martin's pace. Lisa Meshke, of meet champion Iowa State, shot a final-round 75 to set the Lady Razorback Invitational's individual 54-hole record.
