NCAA Volleyball Bracket Announcement Today

The 64-team bracket for the 2004 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be announced today at 5:45 p.m. on ESPNews. The public is invited to join the Wisconsin team and coaching staff for the announcement in the McClain Center auditorium. Access to the building is available in the northwest corner near parking ramp 17, located north of Camp Randall Stadium.
First and second-round matches will be held on the campuses of participating institutions between Dec. 2-5.
For the second year of the championship, sites of the NCAA regionals have been predetermined. Host institutions will be Louisville (Louisville, Ky.), Minnesota (Minneapolis), Washington (Seattle), and UW-Green Bay (Green Bay, Wis.). Regionals will be held on Dec. 10-11.
Regional champions will advance to the NCAA championship at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, Calif., on Dec. 16 and 18.
The University of Wisconsin volleyball team has appeared in the 'Big Dance' the last eight years in a row and 10 out of the last 11 years. In the last 14 years, Wisconsin has made 12 appearances in the NCAA tournament and is 20-12. Wisconsin's best finish came in 2000 when it advanced to the NCAA championship for the first time in program history. The Badgers have also made three appearances in NCAA regional finals (elite eight).
Wisconsin ended the 2004 regular season with a 19-9 overall record. The Badgers finished in sole possession of fourth place in the Big Ten Conference at 13-7.
