Badger Golfers Take 12th Place at Big Red Classic

True freshman Garrett Jones led Wisconsin for the second time this spring at the Big Red Classic in Ocala, Fla. Tying for 16th with 76-75-73=224, he helped UW to scores of 302-304-315=921 in 12th place of the 15-teams competing.
Junior Brian Brodell continued to shake off the winter rust, finishing in a tie for 40th with scores of 77-76-78=231. Rookie walk-on Ryan Conn was next for the Badgers in a tie for 53rd with 74-78-82=234. Dylan Esterling fired a consistent 75-75 in the first two rounds, but could not finish out the weekend with a 90 in the final round. He finished with 240 total in a tie for 73rd.
T.J. Blakemore contributed a final round score to the team total with 83-78-82=243 and Kevin Tassistro (80-79-87=246) also competed.
Methodist College, carding 292-292-303=887, clinched the team title with a four stroke lead over host Austin Peay. Adam Horton from Methodist took home the individual medal with 73-72-68-213.
The Badgers have nearly a month-long break before competing in the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. on April 10-11.
