Wisconsin in Fifth With One Round To Go

The women's golf team sits in fifth place at the Big Ten Championship after firing a third round score of 315. Freshman Jill Ries led the Badgers in the third round with a personal 18-hole best 76.
Wisconsin's 54-hole total of 926 is one stroke behind Michigan in fourth place and 22 strokes behind leader Indiana. Ohio State in second and Purdue in third round out the top five.
Senior Malinda Johnson slipped into a tie for third, shooting a 77 on Saturday. With a three-round score of 222, she is still within reach of individual leader Danah Ford, who has shot an even par 216.
Freshman Nicki Morse and sophomore Jackie Obermeuller were the remaining contributors to the team score in Round Three, both shooting an 81.
Sophomore Lindsay McMillan is behind Johnson in team standings, tied for 27th with scores of 77-74-86=237. Morse is one stroke behind her with 80-77-81=238 in a tie for 31st. Ries is tied for 42nd with 83-84-76=243. In a tie for 52nd, junior Sami Forster has turned in 77-87-84=248 and Obermueller is in 60th with 89-81-81=251.
The team and individual titles will be decided Sunday morning with the final round teeing off at 8:00 a.m. Live scoring can be watched at www.golfstat.com.
