Johnson Shoots 79 in Round One of NCAA Regional

UW senior golfer Malinda Johnson is tied for 53rd after shooting a 79 in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional on Thursday. She is second among the three individuals not competing with a team.
The regional, featuring 21 teams, is hosted by Illinois State University at the par 71, 6,108-yard Illinois State University Golf Course. The top eight teams and two individuals advance to the NCAA Championship.
Johnson tees off for her second round at 12:20 p.m. on Friday and will play the final 18-hole round on Saturday. Complete results and live scoring can be seen at www.golfstat.com.
