Men's Golf at Big Ten Championship

The Badger men's golfers shot a score of 299 in the first round of the 2004 Big Ten Championship. They are in 11th place, two strokes behind Michigan. The Wolverines host the conference tournament at the par 71, 6,704-yard U of M Golf Course.
Ryan Conn led the Badgers with a two-over par 73 in the opening round. He is tied for 20th with that score. Junior Kevin Tassistro was one stroke behind him, turning in a 73. Finishing out the team score contributers were Dylan Esterling and Garrett Jones, both firing a 76. Brian Brodell, with an 82, is also competing for Wisconsin.
Ohio State and Illinois are tied for first with 279 each. The Buckeyes Kevin Hill led individuals, carding a 66 Saturday morning.
The players return to the links Saturday afternoon for the second round. The final 18 holes will be played Sunday morning.
