Badgers Finish 11th at Big Ten Championship

The Wisconsin men's golfers fired a 298 in the third and final round of the 2004 Big Ten Championship, but could not climb out of 11th place. They talled a 54-hole total of 897 with rounds of 299-300-398=897.
Junior Kevin Tassistro turned in consistent scores of 74-72-73=219 to lead the Badgers. He tied for 28th individually. True freshman Garrett Jones was next among teammates with a total 223 (76-74-73) in a tie for 39th. Ryan Conn (73-82-75) and Dylan Esterling (76-76-78) both turned in a 230 and tied for 52nd. Brian Brodell took 55th with 82-78-77=237.
Ohio State brought home the 2004 Big Ten Championship title with scores of 279-279-284=842. The Buckeyes were led by individual Big Ten Champion Kevin Hall, who finished with an 11 stroke lead with rounds of 66-65-68=199. Hall's 54-hole score of 199 broke the Big Ten record. The Buckeyes victory was their league-leading 23rd conference title.
With the Big Ten tournament, Wisconsin wrapped up its 2003-04 season and Coach Jim Schuman's first year leading the program. With no seniors on the roster, the Badgers will be back in full force next fall.
