UW Golfer Earns National Scholar Honors
July 21, 2004 | Women's Golf
UW Golfer Lindsay McMillan was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team. It is the second year of recognition for the sophomore who owns a 3.8 cumulative grade point average while majoring in pre-medicine. The Calgary, Alberta native is one 318 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Divisions I, II and III to be recognized with this prestigious honor.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50, and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Wisconsin has had 13 golf scholar-athletes named to the team through the years. McMillan is the sixth player to earn the award in multiple years having also been named to the team as a freshman.
McMillan competed in 31 rounds for the Badgers scoring 2,471 strokes for an average of 79.7 which ranked second on the team. She recorded career bests for 36 holes (149) and 54-holes (225) at the Legends Shootout in Indiana last fall.
