Badgers Tied for Third After 18 Holes

Wisconsin Men's Golf started the season on a good note Saturday on the par-72, 6,979-yard Radrick Farms Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich. The UW is tied for third in the Radrick Farms Intercollegiate with fellow Big Ten team Indiana, Memphis, Ball State, and Georgia State at nine-over par (297). Six strokes ahead of the Badgers is leader Purdue. The Boilermakers collaboration of 291 leads runner-up Iowa by two strokes (293).
Three golfers, senior Brian Brodell, sophomore Garrett Jones and freshmen Jeff Kaiser paced the Badgers with a two-over par 74. The trio is locked in an 18th-place tie with eight others, five strokes behind Rice's Matt Toohey (69). Fifth-year senior Ryan Conn finished one stroke behind his teammates to place in a 29th-place tie with ten others at two-over par 75. A.J. DeLawyer made his Badger debut with an initial round of 77, earning 52nd-place with seven others.
