Badgers Third After Day One at Mary Fossum Invitational

Wisconsin Women's Golf started their second meet of the season at the Mary Fossum Invitational Saturday on the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. After 36 holes, the Badgers are four strokes in back of Big Ten foes Michigan (609) and host Michigan State (612).
The Badgers' top three finishers all stand tied for seventh. The trio of Melissa Martin (75-78=153), Lindsay McMillan (76-77=153) and Nicki Morse (78-75=153) each find themselves nine shots back of the leader, Michigan's Brianna Broderick.
Katie Elliot finished tied for 23rd (76-80=156) while Samantha Forster tied for 35th with 159 (76-83). Freshmen Mayumi Kobayashi finished her first home meet in a 66th-place tie (88-78=166).
