Butler Finishes Seventh in LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon

Former Badger Kathy Butler placed seventh in the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon on Oct. 9. In her marathon debut, Butler finished in two hours, 30 minutes, .01 seconds. U.S. record holder and Olympic bronze medalist Deena Kastor won the race in 2:21.24.
Butler was a five-time national champion for the Badgers and is a two-time Olympian. She earned 13 All-American honors from 1995-97 and also won 17 Big Ten Conference titles.
Butler currently competes for Great Britain after having run for Canada. Her marathon time ranks her second in this year's British rankings behind Paula Radcliffe's world-leading time of 2:17.42.
