Wisconsin Continues Slide

The University of Wisconsin men's soccer team (4-8-0) lost their sixth straight game Sunday as they fell to Penn State 1-0 in overtime. Penn State improved to 4-6-2 overall.
'We played well enough to win, but we couldn't find the goal,' said head coach Jeff Rohrman. 'We had two really good chances to score, but couldn't convert the chances into goals. We just aren't getting enough out of our forwards; they aren't producing like we need them too. '
The only goal of the game was scored by Penn State's Brian Devlin off an assist from Simon Omekanda five minutes into the overtime period. Devlin shot from the middle of the field in front of UW goalkeeper Jake Settle (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) who recorded three saves in 90-plus minutes of play.
Scoring on a controversial no call after a hand ball the Nittany Lions remain undefeated in the Big Ten (3-0-0), while the Badgers remain winless (0-2-0) in the conference.
'We played very good defense today,' said Rohrman. 'Aaron [Hohlbein] and the rest of the defense played well and only allowed eights shots, and only two of them were on goal.'
The Badgers will next be in action Friday night as they take on No. 11 Indiana at 8 p.m. at the McClimon Soccer Complex.
