Bauer Earns Back-to-Back Conference Honors
November 07, 2005 | Women's Hockey
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced Wisconsin women's hockey standout Sara Bauer (St. Catharines, Ontario) as this week's offensive conference player of the week. It is Bauer's second consecutive honor.
The junior forward scored six points in the Badgers' conference sweep of St. Cloud State. She had four points on Friday, including a power play goal and an assist on a Wisconsin short-handed goal. Saturday, Bauer scored a first-period goal and added an assist on the game-winning power play goal. With points in both games over the weekend, Bauer extended her scoring streak to 18 games dating back to last season.
Bauer and the Badgers were originally scheduled for a bye week, but will travel to Winona, Minn., to play a make-up game vs. Minnesota State. The game is schedule for Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7:07 p.m. with St. Mary's University playing host. The event is free and open to the public.
The Badgers won the first game of the series, 4-1 in Mankato, Minn., but a water main break near All Seasons Arena on Oct. 22 prevented the second game from being played.
