Badgers Earn Freshman All-American Mention

Four University of Wisconsin football players have been named to various freshmen All-American teams this month.
Defensive end Matthew Shaughnessy, who played in 11 games (seven starts) and racked up 39 tackles (7.5 for loss), was a first-team selection by The Sporting News, ESPN.com and Scout.com. A true freshman, Shaughnessy was a second-team choice of collegefootballnews.com.
Offensive tackle Kraig Urbik, a redshirt freshman who started all season, was a first-team selection by Scout.com and a second-team pick of The Sporting News and Rivals.com.
Defensive lineman Jason Chapman, also a redshirt freshman, was a third-team pick by collegefootballnews.com after playing in 11 games and starting seven. He had a career-high nine tackles vs. Northwestern.
Defensive back Jack Ikegwuonu, who tied for the team lead with three interceptions, was an honorable mention selection by The Sporting News.
