Capital One Bowl Diary: Day 2
December 27, 2005 | Football
Each day uwbadgers.com will recap the events of the day for the University of Wisconsin football team, which is playing Auburn in the Capital One Bowl on Jan 2. Today, read all about the second day of the nine-day trip:
The team hit the ground running on Monday with a lengthy, full-pads practice at Olympia High School, about 15-20 min. away from the hotel. From the highest part of the bleachers, one has a nice view of the lake nearby.
After practice, most everyone headed to SeaWorld for the rest of the afternoon. A neat exhibit was the shark area, where people go through a glass tunnel surrounded by sharks and fish. And for those with the patience to arrive 30+ min. early, Shamu proved entertaining.
In the photo gallery accompanying this story, there are pictures of punter Ken DeBauche, linebacker Dontez Sanders, defensive lineman Nick Hayden and wide receiver Brandon White feeding the sea lions sardines. The funniest part came when a giant sea lion climbed up on the rocks where the smaller sea lions were being fed and asserted its dominance, scaring the smaller ones away (it was quite amusing to see them all scramble and cower).
There was no team dinner; everyone was on their own for the remainder of the evening.
