Capital One Bowl Diary: Day 3
December 28, 2005 | Football
Each day uwbadgers.com will recap the events of the day for the University of Wisconsin football team, which is playing Auburn in the Capital One Bowl on Jan 2. Today, read all about the third day of the nine-day trip:
The team awoke to a sunny day without the windy conditions from the day before. Practice began later than it did on Monday so everyone got to sleep in just a bit more.
In the evening, players and coaches went to Gatorland'best described as a zoo with a lot of alligators'for a welcome dinner with Auburn. The Badgers got to play and take pictures with baby alligators (that had their mouths tied shut) as part of their tour.
Before dinner, Wisconsin coach Barry Alvarez faced off against Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville in a contest in which each raced to see who could first pull an alligator by its tail out of the water. UW fans rejoice: Coach Alvarez was the winner!
Then the players were treated to a dinner that included steak, ribs and chicken. Mmmm!
