Wisconsin is 11th at Lady Boilermaker

The Badgers closed out regular season tournament competition Sunday with an 11th-place finish at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational. Wisconsin (311-318-319) finished nine strokes behind East Carolina and Iowa State, one spot outside the top ten.
Senior Lindsay McMillan claimed Wisconsin's top finish, using 230 strokes to complete the tournament and finish tied for 21st with four other players (73-78-79=230).
Freshman Katie Elliott finished ten places back in a 31st-place tie (79-75-78=232). Jackie Obermueller shot a pair of 79's (79-76-79=234) to end the tournament in a 36th-place tie with TCU's Stacey Bieber.
Nicki Morse finished in a 65th-place tie (85-78-84=247) while Jill Ries shot a 253 (80-85-88) to finish 70th. Danielle Hoff completed the Wisconsin effort, placing 73rd (87-88-84) with a 259-stroke effort.
Michigan and TCU shared the tournament title with scores of 898 while Northwestern secured third at 900 strokes.
Amanda Kostner of Kansas won the individual medal by three strokes (73-71-73=217) with three of the tournament's lowest single rounds.
Wisconsin women's golf begins post-season action in about two weeks at the 2005 Big Ten Championships, April 22-24, 2005. The University of Michigan will play host at the U-M Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich.
