Badgers Finish Big Tens in Eighth

Due to an accumulation of snow in Ann Arbor, Mich. Sunday's final round of the 2005 Big Ten Championships was cancelled, leaving Wisconsin no chance to improve its eighth-place standing after 54 holes.
Wisconsin scored a 979 (324-327-328) in the shortened tournament while Lindsay McMillan led the team in the fifth tournament of the season, placing 25th on 241 strokes (80-78-83).
Katie Elliott's final round 78 tied McMillan the team's lowest round of the tournament, giving her 28th-place with a 241-stroke total (78-85-79). Jill Ries shot a 251 (81-84-86) to manage a 47th-place tie with two others while Melissa Martin finished one stroke back in sole possession of 50th (87-80-85).
Jackie Obermueller shot a 259 to earn a 57th-place tie (85-93-81=259) while Nicki Morse rounded out the Wisconsin effort with a 263-stroke total (86-88-89).
Ohio State captured its third consecutive Big Ten Team title with a 900-stroke score (297-296-307). The Buckeyes claimed the tournament's top four individual spots as well including Kristen White's 222-stroke performance earned the individual medal (73-73-76).
Jill Ries was recognized as a 2005 Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Honoree.
