Wisconsin Shoots 619 on First Day

The Wisconsin Badgers are tied for ninth-place after 36 holes of the Lady Boilermaker Invitational. After Saturday's action, the UW (311-308=619) is tied with Iowa State and Jacksonville State in ninth.
Lindsay McMillan used a first-round 73 to finish the day in 16th (73-79=152), the team's highest finish after the opening 36 holes. Freshman Katie Elliott follows in 21st with a 154-stroke effort (79-75=154).
Jackie Obermueller finished the first day tied for 32nd, following one stroke behind with scores of 79 and 76 (155). Nicki Morse improved seven strokes during the second round to salvage a 58th-place effort after day one (85-78=163).
Jill Ries and Danielle Hoff completed the Wisconsin effort. Ries used 165 strokes during the day's action (80-85=165) to finish in a 64th-place effort while Hoff's 175- stroke effort (87-88=175) earned a 75th-place tie.
The Lady Boilermaker Invitational continues with the final round of action Sunday morning at 7 a.m. at the Birk Boilermaker Golf Complex's Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
