August 25, 2005 | Men's Soccer
College Soccer News, a web site dedicated the men's collegiate soccer released its annual list of the Top 100 freshmen to watch, nationally. Wisconsin midfielder Kenny Dix (Atlanta, Ga.) was named to the list.
Dix earned playing time in the Badgers' exhibition game vs. UW-Parkside. Winning that game, Wisconsin now awaits the regular season-opener at the Big Toe Soccer Invitational, Labor Day weekend. The Badgers will take on UNLV on Friday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Drake on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 4 p.m.
Head coach Jeff Rohrman is anxious to start the season and welcomes Dix and the other newcomers to the Badger roster.
'I think it's a great group in terms of some of the intangibles,' said Rohrman. 'The freshmen have done good a job coming in, getting used to college life and the demands of college soccer. I certainly anticipate a few of those players to help contribute throughout the season. I like this group from top to bottom. It's going to give us some depth in some places and there are some guys that are going to fill some holes for us.'
