Badgers Finish Tied for 10th

The University of Wisconsin women's golf team held on to tie for tenth place with a 312 in the final round of the Mary Fossum Invitational Sunday morning in East Lansing, Mich.
Badger freshman Jeana Dahl (Fargo, N.D.) closed out a consistent weekend with a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 23rd at 229 (77-77-75=229). Sophomore Katie Elliott (Madison, Wis.) moved up one position to a tie for 37th place with a 78 on Sunday (79-77-78=234). Junior Jill Ries (Middleton, Wis.) finished three shots behind Elliott at 237 (83-75-79=237).
Senior Jackie Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) and sophomore Carissa Werlinger (Naperville, Ill.) tied for 59th place at 240 with final rounds of 82 and 80, respectively.
Host school Michigan State ran away with the team title at 889, eight shots clear of second-place Southern Methodist. Northwestern's Jennifer Hong and Kent State's Becky Wood tied for the individual title at 4-over 220.
The Badgers travel to Bloomington, Ind. Sept. 24-25 to take part in the 12-team Lady Northern Invitational held at Indiana University Championship Golf Course.
