Badgers Finish 11th at Lady Northern Invitational

The Wisconsin women's golf team held on to claim 11th place with a 316 Sunday morning at the Lady Northern Invitational at the Indiana University Golf Course.
The Badgers finished the tournament at 313-304-316=933 to remain one stroke clear of Minnesota.
Carissa Werlinger (Naperville, Ill.) led UW with a 77 in the final round to finish tied for 38th place at 234. The sophomore posted the low round for Wisconsin in the second round as well with a 75. Freshman Jeana Dahl (Fargo, N.D.) joined Werlinger at 234 after shooting a 79 on Sunday.
Seniors Lindsay McMillan (Calgary, Alberta) and Jackie Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) tied for 44th place at 235 after final round scores of 82 and 80, respectively.
Sophomore Katie Elliott (Madison, Wis.) tied for 56th place at 239 after an 80 in the final round. Junior Jill Ries (Middleton, Wis.) finished five strokes behind Elliott in a tie for 63rd place at 244.
Purdue claimed the team title at 3-over par 867. Maria Hernandez of Purdue and Samantha Richdale of Illinois State shared individual honors at 2-under 214.
The Badgers have the next two weekends off before traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. Oct. 16-18 to take part in the Lady Razorback Invitational.
