Volleyball Continues to be Ranked 10th

For the third week in a row, the Badgers are ranked 10th in the CSTV/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I Coaches Top 25 poll released today. Wisconsin, which has won its last seven matches, is 21-5 on the season and tied for second in the Big Ten Conference at 13-3.
Despite losing to unranked Colorado over the weekend, Nebraska (23-1) maintains the top spot in the poll, picking up 40 of 60 first-place votes. Washington (22-3) jumps up two spots to second, earning 15 first-place votes. Stanford (21-3) falls one spot to third while Southern California (23-3) moves up two spots to fourth. Penn State (25-2) falls two spots to fifth after losing to Ohio State on Nov. 8.
Seven Big Ten schools are ranked or receive votes in the poll. In addition to Penn State and Wisconsin, Minnesota (19-7) moves up one spot to 12th while Ohio State (19-7) takes a four-spot jump up to 19th. Purdue (19-8) falls seven places to 23rd. Michigan (20-9) and Michigan State (17-9) both receive votes in the poll.
Wisconsin wraps up a four-match home stand this week with two matches in the UW Field House. It's a battle for second place in the Big Ten when the Badgers take on 12th-ranked Minnesota on Wednesday. First serve is at 7 p.m. The teams are tied for second place in the league, just one match behind Big Ten leader Penn State (14-2).
Wisconsin wraps up its conference home season on Friday by hosting Iowa at 7 p.m. The match is Senior Night with the Badgers' three seniors being honored before the match. The final set of Badger trading cards will also be available.
