
UW Hosts Winter Pole Vault ' Throws Camp

A winter pole vault and throws camp for boys and girls in junior high and high school will be held from Dec. 27-29 at the University of Wisconsin. The pole vaulting camp will be held daily from 9 a.m. ' 12:30 p.m. while the throwing camp will be held daily from 1 p.m. ' 4:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center (The Shell), 1430 Monroe St.
Under the direction of UW assistant coach Will Wabaunsee, the camps will offer a learning and competitive opportunities for vaulters and throwers of all levels and abilities. Wabaunsee, who is in his third year at the UW coaching both the men's and women's throwers, vaulters and multi-event athletes, is in his 18th year of coaching in the collegiate ranks.
The pole vault camp will cover approach and vaulting technique including video taping. The throws camp will cover both the shot put (glide and rotational) and discus throw.
Cost of either camp is $150, which includes instruction, workouts, weight training and notebooks. A pdf of the camp registration form is available as a PDF below.
