Badgers in 10th at MountainView Collegiate

The Wisconsin women's golf team sits in 10th place at 606 following the first two rounds of the MountainView Collegiate Saturday in Tucson, Ariz.
The Badgers jumped from 15th to 10th in the second round by shaving six strokes off of their first round 306 in the afternoon. UW is six shots out of ninth place and just seven strokes out of a tie for seventh.
Senior Lindsay McMillan (Calgary, Alberta) led the way for the Badgers with a 73-76=149. McMillan is tied for 21st place with 18 holes left to play on Sunday.
Sophomore Katie Elliott (Madison, Wis.) is just one stroke behind McMillan in 23rd place at 150 after two rounds of 75.
Jeana Dahl (Fargo, N.D.) recovered from an opening round 79 to card the team's best score of the afternoon, a 73. The freshman is tied for 30th place at 152 heading into Sunday's final round.
Senior Jackie Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) also improved her score in the second round with an 82. Obermueller ended the day tied for 47th place at 155.
Freshman Isabel Alvarez (Gijon, Spain) rounded out the UW effort by shooting an 82 and an 83 to close out the day in 76th place at 165.
Denver leads the tournament at 591, one shot better than Northwestern, Missouri and Nebraska. Adriana Zwanck from Arizona has the 36-hole lead at 3-under 141.
The final round of the MountainView Collegiate begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Mountain Time.
