Wisconsin Takes 12th at Lady Buckeye Invite

The Wisconsin women's golf team shot a 313 in Sunday's final round of the Lady Buckeye Invitational to finish in 12th place at 918 at the Golf Club of Dublin in Dublin, Ohio.
The Badgers finished the tournament six shots behind 11th-place Illinois in their final competition before the Big Ten Championships. Among the nine Big Ten squads in the 15-team field, UW finished seventh.
Sophomore Katie Elliott (Madison, Wis.) led the way for the Badgers for the fourth time in as many tournaments this spring. Elliott tied for 29th place at 225 following a final round 76. Heading into next weekend's Big Ten Championships, Elliott has recorded scores of 76 or lower in five of her last six rounds.
Senior Jackie Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) finished tied for 53rd place at 231 after an 81 on Sunday.
Senior Lindsay McMillan (Calgary, Alberta) and freshman Jeana Dahl (Fargo, N.D.) tied for 58th place at 232 by shooting identical rounds of 77, 76 and 79. Junior Melissa Martin (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) also shot a 79 on Sunday en route to a 238 and a 66th-place tie.
Auburn won the tournament at 15-under 849, 27 shots ahead of second-place Florida. Auburn's Maria Martinez won the individual title at 9-under 207, one stroke ahead of teammate Nicole Hage.
Wisconsin next travels to Bloomington, Ind., April 28-30 for the Big Ten Championships on the IU Golf Course. Live stats for the event can be found at golfstat.com.
