Burish Signs with Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed forward Adam Burish to a two-year contract.
Burish, 23, 6-1, 189-pound forward was selected by the Blackhawks in the ninth round, 282nd overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. A natural leader, he served as captain of the Badgers for two seasons. In his senior season, 2005-06, Burish's Badgers captured the NCAA national championship. He notched five points (1 goal and 4 assists) in four playoffs games while also tallying an assist and a plus/minus rating of plus-1 in the national championship game against Boston College. For the season, Burish ranked third on the team in scoring with 33 points (9 goals and 24 assists) in 42 games and third on the team with a impressive plus/minus rating of plus-21.
A native of Madison, Wis., Burish spent four seasons (2002-03 to 2005-06) at the University of Wisconsin. In his 4-year career at UW, he appeared in 145 games recording 28 goals and 50 assists for 78 points and 213 penalty minutes.
