Former UW Golfer Earns National Scholar Honors
July 24, 2006 | Women's Golf
Former UW Women's golfer Lindsay McMillan has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the fourth straight season.
The Calgary, Alberta native is one of only two golfers in Wisconsin school history to receive this prestigious honor four times. Allie Blomquist (Afton, Minn.) was named to the team from 1998-2001.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50, and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
McMillan is one of only 13 UW golfers to be named to the team and only six have earned the award multiple times. McMillan concluded her career with a scoring average of 79.54 (10,101 strokes, 127 rounds), the sixth-lowest career average in school history. McMillan, who graduated UW in May with a degree in Biology, was also a three time Academic All-Big Ten recipient (2004-06).
