Additional Softball Clinic Spots Available
October 09, 2007 | Softball
Due to the tremendous response for the fall hitting and pitching softball clinic, the Wisconsin softball office announced today that ten additional spots have been added to Saturday's clinic.
Clinic participants will have a unique opportunity to watch and interact with Division I athletes. Come out to Goodman Diamond Saturday, Oct. 13 to watch the red. vs. white intra-squad scrimmage at 10 a.m. with the clinic following the game.
There is no admission fee for the scrimmage and the clinic runs from 1-4 p.m.
The hitting clinic is designed for hitters who want to elevate their play at the plate. Participants will learn tips, techniques and drills from the UW coaching staff and student-athletes on how to improve physical mechanics and mental approach. Bunting instruction will also be provided.
In the pitching clinic, pitchers will receive intensive instruction on the fundamentals and the skills needed to master the mound. Specialized drills to increase velocity and control will also be presented.
The softball office requests that pitchers provide their own catchers. (Catchers do not have to pay the registration fee).
The pre-registration deadline for the hitting and pitching clinic is Oct. 10 and cost is $85. Walkups and registration after Oct. 10 is $100.
All participants will need to provide a copy of their insurance on the day of the clinic.
Please contact volunteer assistant coach Rachel Kraus at rk3@athletics.wisc.edu or (608) 890-2035 with questions or to register.
