Joe Danielson of Madison, Wis., won the Bucky Bike as part of an online promotion at uwbadgers.com. The customized Badger chopper valued at $60,000 was awarded at the UW men 's hockey game on Saturday, November 3. The promotion was made possible by Kwik Trip, 2 Wheel Films, Inc., and Badger Sports Properties.
Danielson was one of three finalists who were randomly selected from over 800,000 entries on uwbadgers.com. Registration began on Friday July, 2, and closed at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 1.
During the second intermission of Saturday's hockey game, Danielson was joined on the Kohl Center ice by finalists Steven Eisenhauer of Menominee Falls, Wis., and Chris Childs of Stoughton, Wis. Jeff Bach of 2 Wheel Films, Inc., the bike's creator, provided each of the three contestants with a key, one of which would start the bike. Danielson emerged as the lucky winner when the bike kicked into gear after he placed his key in the ignition.
For their participation, Eisenhauer and Childs were each provided with consolation prizes. Childs won two tickets to the men's hockey game vs. North Dakota while Eisenhauer received a $100 gift certificate to Bucky's Locker Room.
Created by 2 Wheel Films, Inc. based in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the Bucky Bike honors the success that Wisconsin Athletics has had over the past several years.
