The University of Wisconsin football team (9-3, 5-3 Big Ten) will face the Volunteers of Tennessee in the 2008 Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla. The Volunteers won the SEC East Division and finished the 2007 season 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the SEC after falling to LSU in the conference title game.

Wisconsin last played in the Outback Bowl in 2005, falling to Georgia 24-21. The Badgers were also a part of the 1998 Outback Bowl, again falling to Georgia 33-6. When the bowl was still called the Hall of Fame Bowl, Wisconsin beat Duke 34-20 in 1995.
