
Volleyball Ends Season Ranked 14th in Coaches Poll

The University of Wisconsin volleyball team ended the 2007 season ranked 14th in the final CSTV/American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. It is the fourth straight year and 10th overall season that the Badgers have ended their season among the top-15 teams in the nation.
NCAA and Big Ten Conference champion Penn State (34-2) wrapped up its season with a first-place ranking, picking up all 60 first-place votes. NCAA runner-up Stanford (32-3) was ranked second while national semifinal participants Southern California (29-5) and California (26-8) were ranked third and fourth, respectively.
In addition to top-ranked Penn State and 14th-ranked Wisconsin, the Big Ten had three other teams that were ranked or received votes in the final poll. Michigan (24-11) and Michigan State (21-14), which both advanced to the regional semifinals, were ranked 19th and 20th, respectively. Purdue (19-14) received votes in the final poll.
Wisconsin (26-5) was ranked among the top-14 teams in the nation all season. The Badgers achieved a season-high ranking of seventh on Oct. 29. The UW also finished second in the Big Ten at 17-3.
