
Brandt Signs With Gwinnet

The Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL announced the signing of former Wisconsin forward Andy Brandt on Saturday. Brandt became the eighth Badger to sign a professional contract since the end of the season on March 15.
Brandt joins the Gladiators after completing his senior season at the University of Wisconsin. In 40 games this season with the Badgers, Brandt posted three goals and three assists for a career-high six points.
A four-time letterwinner at Wisconsin, Brandt helped the Badgers to the 2005-06 NCAA Championship with a 2-1 victory over Boston College in the final. In 128 career collegiate games, Brandt posted five goals and nine assists for 14 points.
Brandt made his professional debut Saturday night, helping the Gladiators to a 3-2 home victory over the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
Brandt joins fellow seniors Brian Elliott (Ottawa Senators/Binghamton), Andrew Joudrey (Washington Capitals/Hershey), Jake Dowell (Chicago Blackhawks/Norfolk), Ross Carlson (Providence), Jeff Likens (Manchester), as well as junior Joe Piskula (Los Angeles Kings) and sophomore Jack Skille (Chicago Blackhawks/Norfolk) as Badgers who have sign pro contracts this offseason.
