
Three Badger Golfers Finish In Top Ten

Three UW golfers finished in the top ten at the WWSGA/WWPLGA State Stroke Play Championships at The Oaks' Golf Course in Cottage Grove, Wis.
Katie Elliot finished tied for second place after she shot a 75 on Monday and then followed that with a 69 in the second round on Tuesday. Elliot (Madison, Wis.) recorded the second-lowest season 18-hole average in Badger women's golf history last season with a 75.40 (2,693 strokes/ 35 rounds).
Kelsey Verbeten (Green Bay, Wis.) finished in seventh place (71-76=147) and incoming Badger golfer Carly Werwie (Kenosha, Wis.) finished tied for tenth place (77-78=155).
Three other UW golfers also participated in the tournament. Ann Marie Sztukowski (Fond du Lac, Wis.) ended one stroke behind Werwie to finish in a five-way tie for 11th place. Kate Wierwill (Verona, Wis.) finished with a 165 and Heather Herrick (Hartland, Wis.) finished with a 168.
