
Softball Schedule Announced

The Wisconsin softball team will face some tough opponents both in conference and non-conference play this season, highlighted with a double-header against NCAA College World Series qualifier Northwestern on March 28 and 29 in Evanston, Ill.
Seventeen of UW's 2008 opponents reached the NCAA Regional Tournament last year.
The Badgers host two fall contests against UW-Parkside and UW-Green Bay on Oct. 6 at Goodman Diamond. Wisconsin concludes the fall games with a red vs. white scrimmage on Oct. 13.
UW opens the regular season against the BYU Cougars on Feb. 8-10 in Provo, Utah and travels over the next four weeks to contests in Las Vegas, Nev., Tampa, Fla. and finally to Austin, Texas.
For their spring trip, the Badgers head to the west coast with a stop in Columbia, Mo. to face the Missouri Tigers before they continue to California to play Pacific, Sacramento State and Stanford.
Wisconsin begins Big Ten conference play on the road with a weekend series against Northwestern and Michigan State on March 28-30.
UW returns home for an 11-game home stand against Loyola, Purdue, Indiana, Northern Iowa, Michigan and Penn State.
Wisconsin then takes to the road once more to play Notre Dame, Iowa and Illinois before returning to Madison to wrap up the regular season against UW-Green Bay, Ohio State and Minnesota.
The Big Ten Championships will take place May 8-10 with the NCAA Regional Tournament the following week, May 16-18. The Super Regionals are scheduled for May 23-24, and the 2008 College World Series starts May 29 with the Championship game on June 4.
