McBain, McDonagh named assistant hockey captains

Junior defenseman athid=6131&deptid=119"> --> Jamie McBain (Faribault, Minn.) and sophomore defenseman athid=6596&deptid=119"> --> Ryan McDonagh (Arden Hills, Minn.) have been named assistant captains for the Wisconsin men's hockey team, head coach Mike Eaves announced on Friday.

McBain and McDonagh join senior co-captain Ben Street and junior co-captain Blake Geoffrion as part of the UW's official leadership group.

Street will be out of action after sustaining an injury last weekend at Denver, which partially inspired the move.

"We chose Jamie and Ryan because they are both good people and good players," said Eaves.
