Current and former Badgers accounted for eight assists and three goals in Team USA's 11-1 victory over the University of North Dakota Saturday night. The win advances the national team to 2-0 in Qwest Tour play.
Former Wisconsin Badger standout Kerry Weiland (2003) and Erika Lawler (2009) led Team USA with three points apiece, each notching a goal and two assists.
Early in the third frame, the red, white and blue saw productivity from two former and one current Badger. Weiland tallied the 10th goal for Team USA on a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle that found the far side of net with 18:27 left in the contest. Angie Keseley (2009) and current Badger Hilary Knight contributed with assists.
The Qwest Tour continues on Oct. 16 when Team USA faces border battle rival, Canada in Spokane, Wash. at 7:05 p.m. (PT).
