The ‘Rusty Toolbox’ game is about as serious as flag football gets
One of the more contentious moments in the rivalry between the University of Wisconsin and Iowa football programs didn't happen at Camp Randall Stadium or Kinnick Stadium. It occurred inside the Hawkeyes' indoor practice facility on Oct. 27, 2000, when a flag football game between the teams' managers was stopped late in the second half because a skirmish had erupted. The Rusty Toolbox rivalry is intense and Jim Polzin is here to tell you all about it with this story from Madison.com.
UW’s Schofield seeks advice from foe ahead of game against Iowa
University of Wisconsin senior defensive end O'Brien Schofield has been trying to get in touch with Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham this week. Graham was basically unblockable in Michigan's 30-28 loss to Iowa last week, finishing with nine tackles, including 3 ½ tackles for loss and two sacks. Schofield is trying to cover all his bases going into his matchup Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium against Hawkeyes junior left tackle Bryan Bulaga, writes Tom Mulhern for the Wisconsin State Journal.
Creating his own identity
While growing up in New Berlin, Wis., Patrick Butrym was usually known for being related to others in his immediate family. So how does the youngest member of the Butrym family get people to know Patrick? He plays football. Read more about the sophomore defensive lineman with this story on UWBadgers.com.
Graham wants to get better vs. Iowa
Garrett Graham doesn't wow his Wisconsin teammates or defeat his foes with eloquent prose. The fifth-year senior tight end instead prefers to impress with blocking, pass-catching and quiet leadership. Like many of his teammates, Graham is determined to raise his level of play when UW hosts Iowa, writes Jeff Potrykus for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Badger football game day reminders for fans

What you won’t find on Facebook
Everyone knows that Badger head coach Bret Bielema played at Iowa, but did you know that he was an assistant coach at Iowa from 1994-2001, serving on current head coach Kirk Ferentz’s staff for three seasons?
Note of the Day
After losing the time of possession battle in each of the first three games, Wisconsin has controlled the ball during Big Ten play. UW leads the conference in time of possession in Big Ten games, holding the ball on offense for an average of 33:20 per game. Against Ohio State, the Badgers held a 42:47-17:13 advantage in time of possession. That was the largest advantage for UW in a game since Nov. 6, 2004 when the Badgers held the ball for 44:31 in a 38-14 win over Minnesota.
