LOOKING BACK
Johnie Imes Invitational
The Wisconsin women's golf team tallied a 909 (309-299-301) to notch a first place finish at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo. The victory marks the Badgers' first 54-hole tournament win since Wisconsin tallied a 904 on October 19, 1999 at the Bale Chevrolet-Honda Invitational in Little Rock, Ark.
Schemm took second overall with a 7-over-par 223 (72-74-77). The Badger duo of Gerry and Verbeten tied for 12th place. The teammates finished five strokes behind Schemm with a 228. Gerry had her best round during the second 18 holes of play when she finished with three birdies for a 2-over-par 74.
Lady Northern Invitational
The Badgers took sixth at their home course, University Ridge, with a 908 (300-298-310).
Werwie clinched the top spot for the Badgers, tying for 14th overall. She tied her all-time personal best set at the 2009 Duramed Invitational, tallying a 223 (74-74-75). A few bogeys throughout each round kept her from staying even par, but her ability to bounce back and find her groove throughout each round gave her a solid finish at the end of day two.
Schemm helped pace the Badgers with a 227 (78-72-77). This was enough to tie her for 23rd overall. The senior stood out the most during the second round when she balanced out three bogeys with three birdies to give her an even-par 72.
