DALLAS, Texas - After a grueling contest in Dallas, the Badgers moved their way from their fourth-place position on day one and finished in third place, behind Florida and Louisville, at the SMU Classic on Saturday.
Southern Methodist University, which hosted the event in their home pool, finished fourth, followed by Florida State and Rice.
Reminiscent of the first day's success, Maggie Meyer and Ashley Wanland each took first place in their primary events, Meyer in the 200 backstroke, and Wanland in the 200 breast.
Wisconsin also won the 200 freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 1:33.08. The squad finished a second ahead of Florida, Louisville and Florida State.
Also performing well for the Badgers was Monika Stitski, who finished eighth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.22 and in the 200 back, clocking a time of 2:03.86.
Next on deck is a dual meet in the UW Natatorium on the eve of Halloween against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
