MADISON, Wis. -- Entering week 14 of the 2009 NFL season, defensive tackle Nick Hayden had appeared in nine career games, including the playoffs, and made eight tackles. He matched that number this past week, posting eight stops in Carolina’s 20-10 loss at New England.
After experiencing his first subpar performance with the Kansas City Chiefs last week, wide receiver Chris Chambers bounced back to catch four passes for 50 yards in a 16-10 loss to Buffalo.
Chambers may have had the better numbers, but Lee Evans of the Buffalo Bills got the win in the game. Evans caught just one pass for the second game in a row and the third time in the last four games, finishing with 11 yards.
Defensive back Jim Leonhard recorded two tackles for the second week in a row as the New York Jets beat Tamp Bay, 26-3.
Rookie fullback Chris Pressley appeared for the Buccaneers in their loss to the Jets.
Matt Katula was Baltimore’s long snapper in the Ravens’ 48-3 win over Detroit.
Rookie linebacker DeAndre Levy had one tackle for the Lions in their loss to the Ravens.
Joe Thomas started at left tackle as Cleveland knocked off Pittsburgh, 13-6.
Casey Rabach started at center for Washington as the Redskins beat Oakland, 34-13.
Rookie defensive end Matt Shaughnessy picked up two tackles in the Raiders’ loss, including the third sack of his career.
Mark Tauscher started at right tackle for Green Bay in its 21-14 win over Chicago.
One week after being made inactive, New York Giants rookie tight end Travis Beckum played in the team’s 45-38 loss to Philadelphia.
Fellow rookie Jonathan Casillas played for the second week in a row as New Orleans defeated Atlanta, 26-23, to remain undefeated.
Players made inactive this week were Michael Bennett of San Diego, P.J. Hill of Philadelphia and Kraig Urbik of Pittsburgh.
