MADISON, Wis. - For the fourth straight season and the 12th time in the last 20 years, the University of Wisconsin volleyball program led the Big Ten Conference in attendance. The Badgers, who averaged 4,000 fans per match in 2009, also ranked third nationally for the third straight season.
"The coaches and players would really like to thank our fans for coming out and supporting us year after year," said UW coach Pete Waite. "They make the Field House one of the best and toughest places to play in the country."
The Badgers drew 4,000-or-more fans per match for the fifth season. Wisconsin drew a season-high crowd of 5,365 vs. Penn State on Nov. 6. That attendance ranks 26th on the UW top-30 match attendance figures.
