
Five men named to WCHA All-Academic Team

Five members of the Wisconsin men's hockey team have been named to the 2009 WCHA All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Senior forward Tom Gorowsky, a finance major, senior goaltender Ryan Jeffery, a legal studies major and senior forward Ben Street, a real estate major, all make their third appearance on the team. Joining the trio are senior goaltender Jeff Henderson, a economics major, and sophomore defenseman Ryan McDonagh, who has yet to declare a major, as first-time honorees.
To earn recognition as a member of the All-WCHA Academic Team, member team student-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) have completed one year of residency at present institution, prior to the current academic year; and 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his overall GPA is at least 3.00 for all terms at his present institution.
A total of 107 student-athletes from all 10 WCHA schools were named the team.
