
Softball announces new member to 2009 signing class

Wisconsin softball head coach Chandelle Schulte has announced that Abby Gregory will join the Badgers for the 2009-10 season.
A native of Beaver Dam, Wis., and graduate of Beaver Dam High School, Gregory finished her senior season with a .557 batting average, 35 runs scored, 40 RBI and just five strikeouts. She also earned a .968 slugging percentage thanks to four home runs, nine doubles and nine triples.
'I am looking forward to working with Abby,' head coach Chandelle Schulte said. ' She is an outstanding young lady, with tremendous potential. '
Gregory is a two-time Little Ten Conference Player of the Year and was named first-team all-conference four times. She was honored as all-district two times and all-state twice. A two-year captain, Gregory was also named team MVP twice, in addition to earning Rookie of the Year honors.
Off the field, Gregory was in the National Honor Society and was named Student of the Month. She was also named to the high-honor roll all four years and finished ranked third in her class.
