Madison, Wis. - Badger coach Todd Oehrlein announced the signing of Jessie Jordan of Urban, Ohio, to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin this fall.
Jordan is no stranger to Wisconsin. Her brother, Ben, is a redshirt sophomore on the UW wrestling team and her parents both attended the University of Wisconsin. Fans may remember her father Jim Jordan, (1985-1988) who was a two-time NCAA Champion at Wisconsin and school record holder with 156 career wins. Her father is a U.S. Congressman from Ohio’s fourth district.
Oehrlein said of Jordan, “We extremely excited to have Jessie join our program. She’s dedicated and hard-working and has great golf ahead of her. She’ll be a great addition to the Wisconsin Golf family.”
Jordan is a three-time second team All-Ohio honoree. She placed sixth with a 79-75—154 at the Division II Ohio State High School Golf Championship this past October while leading her team to a sixth place finish on the Ohio State University Gray Course. She qualified for the U.S.G.A. Women’s Amateur Public Links tournament with a 69 at the Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio, in June, and made it into match play.
She is a two-time qualifier for the Callaway Junior World Championships, and was named the Southwestern Ohio Player of the Year in 2010. She ranked 14th in the 2009-10 Ohio's Golf Junior Girls Rankings. A four-time high school team MVP, she is an honor roll student at Graham Local High School located in St. Paris, Ohio.
