San Antonio, Tex. – In the final event of the fall schedule, the Wisconsin women’s golf team finished ninth at the Alamo Invitational, held at Briggs Ranch in San Antonio. The Badgers were 31 strokes off the pace, carding a 307-293-308—908. Texas Christian University won the tournament, finishing with a 13-over par 877. Texas A&M was in second after shooting an 880, followed by Notre Dame and Colorado tied for third with a 883.
TCU’s Brooke Beeler won the individual honors, shooting a 4-under par 212.
Carly Werwie and Kris Yoo led the Badgers, with the two tying for 29th place. Werwie shot a 77-74-76—227, while Yoo carded a 77-73-77—227. For Yoo, the score marked a new career best 54-hole score, coming after she set a new career best 36-hole score in the first two days.
Alyssa Elliott shot a 79-72-77—228 to finish tied for 32nd. Lindsay Danielson shot a 79-74-78—231 to tie for 43rd place.
Despite leading the Badgers through two rounds, Alexis Nelson struggled on the tournament’s final day, shooting a 74-74-86—234 to slide to a tie for 54th place.
The event will conclude the fall season for the Badgers.
