MADISON, Wis. – Finals are over and the Wisconsin women’s basketball team is ready to take a few days off for the holiday season. The Badgers practiced Wednesday morning for the last time before Christmas and return to the court for practice on Sunday. UW opens the Big Ten Conference season on Dec. 30 when it travels to Purdue for a 6 p.m. CT game in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.

What present is (or was) on your holiday wish list?
I really don’t ask for things anymore, I'm just happy to be home. – Tiera Stephen

What do the holidays mean to you?
The holidays are a time to spend with my family and closest friends. That's the most meaningful part of the holidays to me. – Tara Steinbauer
The holidays are particularly special to me and remind me of how blessed I am to have the family and friends and opportunities that I have. – Morgan Paige
It's a time to celebrate Christ's birth and a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just getting to enjoy being around the people you love. – Lin Zastrow
Christmas for me is all about my savior Jesus Christ being born, I think people often forget the reason for the season and I am just so thankful for the opportunities God has blessed me with. It is also a time to spend with family and really enjoy the present because none of us are promised tomorrow and it is always a blessing to be able to with the ones you love. one thing the holidays have definitely taught me is to be grateful for all that I have, and to share and give back to those who are in need. It was awesome this year that our team had the opportunity to do Operation Christmas Child the shoe boxes we filled for children will truly make their day, and that's what it is about. – Ashley Thomas
